North York Hearts is committed to creating a soccer environment where every participant feels safe, respected and included. Being part of the club comes with a shared responsibility to protect children, respect others and uphold the integrity of the game.
These standards apply to players, parents, guardians, coaches, team officials, volunteers and spectators. Everyone representing the club is expected to act with dignity, fairness and consideration both on and off the field.
Treat every person with dignity and respect regardless of background, identity, ability or role. Harassment, bullying, discrimination, threats, retaliation and abusive behaviour have no place at North York Hearts.
Help create a safe environment by respecting personal boundaries, protecting confidential information and reporting serious safety, misconduct or child-protection concerns through the appropriate channels.
Respect coaches, teammates, opponents and match officials. Accept decisions without intimidation or confrontation and represent the club with honesty, sportsmanship and self-control.

Why Hearts Is Different
A strong club culture depends on adults setting the right example. Coaches and team officials have an additional responsibility to protect the physical, emotional and social well-being of every participant.
Put player well-being and development ahead of results or personal ambitions.Maintain professional boundaries and ensure interactions with minors are open, observable and appropriate.Use constructive, age-appropriate coaching and never humiliate, threaten or use exercise as punishment.Follow concussion protocols, emergency procedures, facility rules and qualified medical direction.Keep required qualifications, training and screening current.Avoid favouritism, inappropriate private contact and any misuse of authority or trust. The Code of Conduct applies to players, parents, guardians, coaches, team officials, volunteers, spectators and anyone representing or participating in North York Hearts activities.
Harassment, bullying, hazing, discrimination, retaliation, threats, violence, sexual misconduct and abusive behaviour are not permitted. Everyone is expected to treat others with dignity and respect.
Parents and spectators should encourage players without coaching from the sideline, respect officials and coaches, avoid discussing confidential team matters publicly and use the club’s established complaint process when concerns arise.
Coaches must put children first, maintain appropriate professional boundaries, provide constructive instruction, treat players fairly and keep their required training and qualifications current.
Serious safety, abuse or child-protection concerns should be reported immediately through the appropriate emergency, legal and club reporting channels. Reporting something to the club does not replace any legal obligation to report.
Concerns are reviewed through a fair and appropriate process. Depending on the situation, the club may use interim safety measures, education, warnings, restrictions, suspension or other proportionate action. Serious matters may be referred to the appropriate authorities.
