Code of Conduct

Everyone contributes to the soccer environment at North York Hearts Soccer Club. Players, parents, coaches, officials, volunteers and spectators are expected to treat one another with respect and support a positive experience on and off the field.

Respect the Game and Each Other

  • Use respectful language and behaviour in person, online and in team communications.
  • Encourage effort, learning and teamwork. Avoid shouting criticism or placing undue pressure on players.
  • Respect match officials and raise concerns through the appropriate channels.
  • Follow the rules of the game, facility requirements and reasonable safety instructions.
  • Do not engage in bullying, harassment, discrimination, threats or violence.
  • Coaches and volunteers should maintain appropriate boundaries and put participant well-being first.

Raising a Concern

For general conduct questions or help finding the appropriate reporting contact, email info@heartssoccer.com. Describe the concern factually and avoid discussing sensitive incidents in public team chats.

Conduct concerns should be addressed through the applicable club and governing-body procedures.

Player Safety

North York Hearts Soccer Club is committed to a safe, inclusive and age-appropriate soccer environment. Players, families, coaches and volunteers share responsibility for recognizing concerns and taking action when something is unsafe.

Preparing for Participation

Players should wear suitable footwear and required protective equipment, bring drinking water and follow coaching and facility instructions. Families should keep emergency contact information current and discuss participation needs with the appropriate club contact.

Injuries and Concussion

Report injuries and suspected concussions promptly. A player with a suspected concussion must stop participating and receive medical assessment. Returning to training or games must follow the applicable concussion protocol and clearance requirements.

Weather and Field Conditions

Check official club or team updates before travelling. Follow instructions concerning lightning, heat, air quality, facility closures and unsafe playing surfaces. Report hazards to the coach or activity leader.

Speaking Up

Tell a responsible adult or appropriate reporting authority if a participant feels unsafe or experiences mistreatment. General safety enquiries can be directed to info@heartssoccer.com.

For an immediate emergency, call 911. Club email is not an emergency reporting service.

Privacy

Personal information deserves careful handling. Registration, program administration and team communications should clearly explain what information is requested, why it is needed and how it will be used.

Information and Consent

When completing club forms, provide accurate information and review the accompanying privacy and consent notices. Ask for clarification before supplying information if its purpose is unclear.

Photography, promotional communications and other optional uses of personal information should be explained separately so families can understand their choices.

Protecting Personal Details

Avoid posting medical information, payment details or other sensitive personal information in public messages or team group chats. Contact the club to arrange an appropriate way to discuss sensitive matters.

Registration and communication platforms may have their own privacy notices. Review those notices when using these services.

Terms & Conditions

Before registering with North York Hearts Soccer Club, review the requirements and conditions for your selected program. Program details and registration agreements explain the commitments associated with participation.

Registration and Payment

Provide accurate player and parent or guardian information, complete the required registration steps and follow the payment instructions for your program. Check eligibility, dates, locations, fees and inclusions before submitting your registration.

Participation Requirements

Players and families are expected to follow the Code of Conduct, safety instructions, facility rules and applicable competition requirements. Review all participation agreements and required acknowledgements presented during registration.

Schedules and Program Updates

Check official club communications for confirmed schedules and changes. For teams using TeamSnap, review updates before leaving for practices or games and keep player availability current.

Withdrawals, Refunds and Cancellations

Review the applicable North York Hearts refund and cancellation policy before registering. For questions about withdrawing, transferring or requesting a refund, email info@heartssoccer.com. Eligibility and any charges must follow the policy applicable to the program.
